Stools

Remember the bar stools I did last fall? Well, I've been wanting to finish the seat with some sort of lettered print. I've found all sorts of wonderful designs but never an easy method to apply, that didn't require a lot of time and/or a steady hand....until..I found this wonderful, and I mean fantastic, wonderful tutorial from Angela at unexpectedelegance ! It was just what I was looking for to do this project. Thank you Karen at graphics fairy for posting your 12 different ways to transfer things on to different mediums. Here's the direct link http://www.graphicsfairy-diy.com/2012/01/12-easy-image-transfer-methods-for-diy.html. The hardest part of this DIY, was deciding which design to use! Here's some pics of the process.

So simple! All I have to do now is a quick seal and my stools are done! Check out the sites for the exact how-to's...on to the next project! Hmmmm, I have a pillow sham calling my name... Carpe' Diem, Raylene

Happy "Hump" Day!

I've decided to paint the living room. I'm tossing a certain look around and I'm 95% sure of the color I want on the walls. I've been searching the web and all my favorite blogs for ideas and colors. Rene' @ cottage and vine had a link called My Colortopia Answering a few simple questions narrows the choices of what fits your personality. Unfortunately for me I like all of the answers! At long last I stumbled across a photo that I think will work perfectly for our home. At this point I think this is the color. I even found a new area rug that will go perfect, on sale at Home Depot, along with the ceiling paint I'll need ( Behr ) Can this day get any better? Now I need to make that decision and go for it! So here's a picture of the room...I even have the reds to throw in!
Don't you just love this room? I'm so excited! Painting a room can make such big changes and it's a spring kind of thing to do! Carpe' Diem, Raylene

Garland!

After a busy week-end spent with my wonderful family, Monday is my catch-up-day! I wanted to post a few photos of quick projects I finished last week.  The banner garland was a free printable from Karen @ http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com. I printed it off on artist sketch paper ( or you could use card stock) cut a template from post cards and used that to make the "banner garland." A $1 pack of clothespins from the local dollar store has sooo many uses!

I gussied up some lamp shades with garland fancy trim.
I also used the clothespins to hold the trim to the lampshades until it dried. (Reminder to myself...buy more clothespins!) One last photo ( or 2) to show you how blessed and lucky I am!

I'm sure that the girls will not be too pleased! But I must brag about how beautiful my girls and my grandchildren are! I had to sneak one pic of John in there, after all, he's the Grandpa! Psst...we have a new baby on the way! Until next time, carpe' diem, Raylene
